Great Pioneer Valley computer repair

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

We’re very keen on supporting local business here in Pioneer Valley.

Personally, I feel even keener when a great person is part of the matter.

Kiernan is an amazing guy, and has a great array of glowing recommendations in LinkedIn for his work repairing, upgrading, recovering, training (and more) with Green Earth Computers.  (The facebook fan page is pretty lively, too.)

Think about your last computer emergency.  When you’ll need him, it’ll probably be urgent.  To make it easy on yourself, be sure to bookmark his site when you visit it.

Rhymes With Orange turns fifteen!

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Congratulations, Hil!

After a whopping 5,475 strips, Rhymes With Orange has reached the admirable 15-year landmark.  How was the event celebrated? There are a few ways.  Here’s just one:

The second way I’m celebrating the 15th birthday is to display the strips larger on the website. And by the way, the strips now go back on the front page to 1995!

(We’re happy to play a part in the festivities, of course.  Congrats!)

To appreciate the full celebration, you’ll just have to check out the full story.

Green your eats!

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

Here’s a good idea: let’s support healthy food systems.

The project, “Movable Feast,” involves the artistic transformation of a typical mobile food service trailer into an advocacy tool for healthy eating, local food production and sustainable living in Western Massachusetts.

In the Fall of 2010, traveling to multiple sites in Western Massachusetts (particularly in disenfranchised low-income communities), “Movable Feast” will create sites of celebration and exchange with informational presentations, local performances, and healthy meals prepared and served to the local community. We see this process as part of a unique artistic and social practice, and you can read more about the project and follow its developments at our web site: www.movablefeastproject.org.

The effort is gaining ground in the Refresh Project, so take a look, cast your vote, and get involved.

Celebrating Sketchy Inspiration

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Dr. Sketchy’s first event in Northampton was a great success, thanks to many great talents including Skytemple friends Miss Lydia Debauch and Miss Flora Finch.

The scorching heat and cool refreshments made the perfect combination for a surf-rock soirée resplendent with the steamy figuring of figures and the sublime sketching of sketches.

Bravo to all.

Marvel at the first one, and don’t miss the next!

Hollywood Wasteland approaches…

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

A robot sent to the present to save the future. Her mission… Protect Jeff Collins, the savior of humanity, from the forces of evil and his roommates.

A sexy robot babe?

Forces of evil?

…and roommates?

This comedy looks incredibly promising, and it’s a cool web series, just like Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, or The Guild, or Hollywood Wasteland.  I know what you’re thinking: “But this is Hollywood Wasteland”.  Or: “You just said ‘Hollywood Wasteland’ twice!”  Don’t worry, I knew that.  I was just demonstrating how much I suspect you’ll be referring to it, once you start watching it.

Hollywood Wasteland.

Hollywood Wasteland.

Hollywood Wasteland.

Hollywood Wasteland.
