About the Ad Council
The United States national Ad Council is where creativity and causes converge. Remember hearing “Only You Can Prevent Wildfires”?
The Ad Council is where Smokey Bear lives. The Ad Council saw that “A mind is a terrible thing to waste,” and reminded Americans that, “Friends don’t let friends drive drunk.”
— Ad Council
As a leading organization getting the word out to Americans since 1942, the Ad Council boasts an impressive history — and a remarkable present. Teach.org is a nonprofit organization led by Microsoft and the U.S. Department of Education.
Ad Council needed to improve the overall performance and optimization of the Teach.org site, to ensure strong and enduring growth.
What We Did
Starting with a master class in massive overhauls, we continued in a longstanding retainer with the United States national Ad Council to improve and optimize Teach.org for increasing signups of new teachers. Class dismissed!
Starting with the teacher signup pathways, we overhauled the all the signup forms and pages for improved conversion, from the homepage through the entire site.
From there, our work extended to complementing functionality throughout the site, including sign in, signups, tool pages, replacing discover modules with a CMS-editable channel, redesign of modules and layouts, setup and configuration of email signup forms, and beautiful lightbox popups to present photos and media in a more appealing way.
Detailed metrics-tracking was implemented throughout, to clearly identify the impact of each element.
Ongoing Retainer & Website Care
To ensure safe and stable development beyond the usual, we put in additional safeguards for easy backup. Then, in an ongoing retainer, we implemented regular security updates, and performed regular tests for performance and stability.
Thanks to these significant changes and ongoing support, Skytemple significantly improved the Teach.org user experience — and moved the needle in terms of the key performance indicator: new teacher signups.
“Love working with Curtiss and the Skytemple team. I feel like the Ad Council won the lottery in finding such knowledgeable, hard-working developers.”
