I recently purchased a mountain bike at Competitive Edge on Route 5 in Holyoke. Ray, the salesman, was extremely helpful finding the right bike for the right price. Since then, I’ve needed to have it adjusted, after the cables stretched, and again when my derailleur stopped working correctly, not to mention a burst tire from a heat wave.
Every time I’ve gone in to have it repaired, they did so free of charge! That place is awesome. I’ve gone back to buy tires, a bike pump, and other supplies because I know I’ll have an excellent experience with people I know aren’t looking to rip me off.
If you’re new to cycling, or want to get back into it after a long period away, I whole-heartedly suggest going to Competive Edge. I wish every specialty shop was so warmly welcoming to newbs.
